These biographies were submitted by a researcher and evidently abstracted from the 1876 History of Sangamon County, IL. Errors could occur, so one should always verify the correctness by obtaining copies of vitals and performing all necessary research to document what is contained herein.



BEARDON, SAMUEL L., was born Feb. 27, 1827, in Christian county, Ky. His father moved to Christian county, Ill., in 1828. His mother dying soon after, his father gave him to John French, a friend of the family, who had moved to Chatham township, in Sangamon county. He was brought up by Mr. French. Samuel L. Beardon was married April 10, 1852, in Sangamon county, to Susan Gofor. They have four children--

GEORGE T., ISAAC N., SAMUEL E., and IRA, and reside two and a half miles northeast of Auburn.

John French died in 1854, in Chatham township.
