EARLY SETTLERS OF SANGAMON COUNTY - 1876

These biographies were submitted by a researcher and evidently abstracted from the 1876 History of Sangamon County, IL. Errors could occur, so one should always verify the correctness by obtaining copies of vitals and performing all necessary research to document what is contained herein.



BEAUCHAMP, JOSHUA, was born about 1782, in Washington county, Ky. He was married there to Catharine Payne. They had seven children in Kentucky, and moved to Sangamon county, Ill., arriving in what is now Woodside township, in the fall of 1827, where two children were born. Of the children--

MARIA R., born in Kentucky, married James H. Withrow. See his name.

The other children--

HENRY N., EDWARD, ELIZA, WILLIAM, JOSEPH and AMANDA, all married, some died, and the living are in Kansas and Missouri.

Joshua Beauchamp moved to Missouri, and died April 1, 1842, in the Platt purchase. His widow resides in Doniphan county, Kansas.
