These biographies were submitted by a researcher and evidently abstracted from the 1876 History of Sangamon County, IL. Errors could occur, so one should always verify the correctness by obtaining copies of vitals and performing all necessary research to document what is contained herein.




JONES, ENOCH, was born in Maryland, came to Sangamon county among the earliest settlers, and located in Island Grove. He brought a wife and seven children. Six of his children were by a former wife, who had been a widow, Halliday, with four children. Her daughter, Sarah Halliday, married Starling Willis. See his name. The whole family moved to Knox county, where the parents died.
