THAXTON, JAMES H.
, was born Oct. 28, 1823, in Allen county, Kentucky. He came to Sangamon county, arriving in the fall of 1839, in what is now Fancy Creek township. He was married in 1845 to Margaret Huffman. They had six living children in Sangamon county, namely--
ARMINDA, born in Sangamon county, married Oscar F. Shepherd. See his name.
MARY A. married James B. Van Meter. See his name.
CLARINDA, LEWIS, CAROLINE and RHODA live with their parents near Sherman, Sangamon county, Illinois--1874.
James H. Thaxton had a sister who married Thomas Brown. See his name.
