MATHENY, JAMES H., JR., son of Judge James H. Matheny, was born April 4, 1856, at the family home in Springfield, Ill. He was admitted to the Bar in 1877, and has continuously practiced his profession. From 1895 to 1908 he devoted much attention to the affairs of the Illinois State Bar Association, being secretary and Treasurer from 1895 to 1906, Vice-President for the year 1906-07 and President for the year 1907-08.
