Originally transcribed from the 1870 Sangamon County Illinois Federal Census
9th Census of the US - Micro. 593, #281-282 and published by Gochanour & Allers - 1985

The 1870 Census microfilm is very light and some of it unreadable. Eileen thanked Congressman Dick Durbin and Steve Carmody in Washington for their help in transcribing poritions of this census from the original books. This would apply to the Mortality Schedule, too. As a result, one should always further document their research after obtaining information from this source.

This Mortality Schedule was included with the publication of the 1870 Census and is indexed as a whole with the census. The Search Engine will not catch these surnames because of the scanned images. One will have to search and read each page, until an index or the census can be posted.
