This is a photo that says on the back Presented by Mrs. Blackwood to Flora Gardner.
Flora Gardner was My Grandmother. She is not in this photo. [Could the tall lady in the photo be Ella Kate Ewing,
the "Missouri Giantess"? Ella Ewing was born March 9, 1872 and died January 10, 1913. One site listed her height
as 7 feet 6 inches. Her tombstone lists her height as 8 feet 4 1/2 inches. She wore a size 24 shoe. Her specially
constructed home was in Gorin, MO. Ella grew normally until somewhere between the ages of 7 and 9, she grew at a
tremendous rate. She eventually traveled with the Barnum & Bailey Circus. Check out the following web site
